It is possible to use Haley Business Rules Engine stand-alone, to run hand-crafted rules. Most customers, however, purchase Haley Expert Rules for authoring rules to run with this engine.

Features
Access complex rules modelled using Haley Office Rules from any SAP application using the Haley JCO Server. The Haley JCO Server is built on SAP's Java Connector technology and uses native SAP Remote Function Calls to interact with the Haley Rule Services. The Haley JCO Server has been designed specifically with large volume high throughput transactional SAP scenarios in mind, but can also be used for online transactions
The eXternal Rules Engine Integration (XREI) Adapter enables complex rules modelled using Haley Office Rules to be accessed via any SAP application which is defined within the SAP BRF, with or without using SAP eXchange Infrastructure (XI) as a middleware component. The SAP BRF is included within every SAP NetWeaver instance by default, and using the BRF as an integration point ensures that every SAP NetWeaver instance can access Haley rules. The XREI Adapter is ideally suited to customers who are dependant on an existing rules implementation within the SAP BRF or who have a pre-requisite to integrate with the Haley Rule Services via the SAP BRF
The Guided Questionnaire is SAP xApp certified and enables an interactive dynamic user interview, powered by rules authored using Haley Office Rules, to collect data and make complex decisions to be generated via SAP NetWeaver Portal
