Haley works with its research partners to drive innovation in the rules industry. Each year, it recruits heavily from among the graduates of top academic institions.

European Commission - ESTRELLA project

ESTRELLA is an international project, partially funded by the European Commission, which brings together leading companies and experts in the field of legal knowledge systems. The project's aim is to validate an open, standards-based platform allowing public administrations to develop and deploy comprehensive legal knowledge management solutions, without becoming dependent on proprietary products of particular vendors.

Haley is a world-leader in the construction of executable legislative models and is playing a key role on the project in addition to many other partners including the Universiteit van Amsterdam, the Universita di Bologna, the University of Liverpool and Rulewise B.V.

King's College, London,
Australian National University

In addition to Haley sponsorship of academic achievement awards, Haley staff also teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at King's College, University of London, and the Australian National University, Canberra. The scope of the lectures includes the application of rules technology to the administration of legislation in government agencies and the clear and accurate drafting of rules and legislation. Haley courses are delivered to both computer science and law students.
