Enhance your software with Haley's business rules Add-ons and Plug-ins

Clients Enabled by the Authority Server

Add new rule authoring Metaphor via Tabular Rules

The new Authority Server is the technology that enables Tabular Rules Clients (DHTML or Excel Plug-in) to access and utilize a server based Conceptual Role Model and knowledge base. HaleyAuthority's Tabular Rules Web Service presents a spreadsheet metaphor (similar to Microsoft Excel) for entering relatively simple business rules through a Web browser using the service-oriented architecture of HaleyAuthority. The Authority Server works by enabling a unified deployment of rules authored via the Tabular Rules clients. All deployment capabilities will continue to be managed via the plug-in for the HaleyAuthority desktop client, while the tabular rules clients will only allow for rules creation and editing.

Browser-based Rule Authoring via DHTML Modules and Statements

The new Authority Server is also the technology that enables the rules authoring via DHTML Modules and Statements to be browser based. For users more familiar with the traditional HaleyAuthority authoring environment the browser-based rule authoring via DHTML Modules and Statements add-on enables a unified deployment of rules authored via the DHTML M dules and Statements clients. All deployment capabilities will continue to be managed via the plug-in for the HaleyAuthority desktop client.

Plug-ins for Enhanced Experience

Visualization

The visualizations plug-ins allow customers to easily conceptualize the structure of the ontology and statements in their knowledge bases. These new visualization plug-ins include a Rule (Statement) Dependencies Visualization plug-in and the Conceptual Role Model Visualization plug-in.

  • Rule (Statement) Dependencies Visualization
The rule dependency visualization plug-in for HaleyAuthority will allow users to understand the dependencies on individual statements including:
    1. Relations being used or generated by a statement/condition
    2. Both direct and indirect conditions to statements, including conditions of the module and conditions of conditions
    3. Relations feeding into other relations when statements and conditions are being hidden
    4. Statements feeding into conditions or statements when relations are being hidden
  • Conceptual Role Model Visualization
The users will then be able to explore individual concept relations and:
  1. specific uses of that concepts and related information.
  2. general uses of that concepts and related information
  3. instance and examples based on that concept.

Relations will also be visualized based on the concepts that match their individual roles. With the Conceptual Role Model Visualization plug-in users will have the option of seeing relational (role) links, taxonomic (specialization, generalization, instance, or example) links, or both.

Enhanced Import Modeling Wizards

In addition to the Siebel import wizard and deployment plug-ins shipped with Siebel CRM 8.0, Haley Authority offers three enhanced import modeling wizards. The import wizards in HaleyAuthority make importing an existing object-oriented software system, whether it be Java, .Net, or XSD, into Authority straight-forward. The result is that objects and functionality from an existing application are completely available to Authority statements, with imported classes/interfaces automatically created as classes, relations and templates. Additionally, keeping track of what needs to be modeled and maintaining the cross-references for the corresponding data types happen automatically.

The results of using with wizard are:
  1. Input all of the external object model in an automated way
  2. Result in a model accessible to Authority statements that is
    1. complete (models everything available in the object model)
    2. consistent (has no ambiguities or internal contradictions)
  3. "Import Wizard" will be introduced such that importing classes/interfaces can automatically create classes, relations and templates. The following wizards will be supported.
    1. Java Modeling wizard
    2. XSD Modeling wizard
    3. NET Modeling wizard
