RuleBurst 8.5 released
RuleBurst's business rules technology takes another step forward
Canberra, 1 November 2006 - RuleBurst is pleased to announce the release of version 8.5 of its flagship business rules development and deployment environment.
RuleBurst 8.5 expands upon the advances of versions 8.0 through to 8.2 by wrapping the suite into a more tightly integrated package and adding the following new features:
Microsoft Visio Screenflow Authoring
Screen-flow is completely separated from rulebase evaluation, allowing reliable screen ordering, while still being able to leverage the intelligence of the rules.
Microsoft BizTalk Compilation
RuleBurst 8.5 now supports building rules into BizTalk rules, rather than using the RuleBurst Runtime engine.
Updated Rule Server
RuleBurst Rule Server (RBRS) is a web service which provides the ability for remote client applications to send assessment data, perform inferencing based on the chosen rulebase, and return the outcomes of the inferencing back to the requesting client.
Enhanced Excel Support
Enhancements have been made to the Excel authoring environment (eg split tables can now include more than one table per sheet).
New Installation process
There are now a number of install options based on the licensing model, including an evaluation version of the product suite.
Improved Documentation Guides
The Rule Developer Guide has been restructured to make it more suitable for expanding into a comprehensive reference suite for rule development. The Programmer Guide has also been updated to include a more comprehensive section on the Rule Server and a section on Third Party Deployments which now includes deployment to BizTalk.
Studio Command Line Build Tool
The Rulebase Build Tool provides a means of building a rulebase from a RuleBurst Studio project using the command line. This allows the rulebase build process to be automated by including the command in a script.
