Haley Systems Introduces HaleyAuthority 5.1 For Complete Business Rules Development Lifecycle
Haley's Business Rules Authoring Product Now Available In 3 Tiers to Capture, Organize, Manage, Test and Deploy Rules
Pittsburgh, PA - November 8, 2005 - Haley Systems, Inc., a leading provider of business rules management systems, today introduced HaleyAuthority™ 5.1, the industry's first business rules authoring software designed to enable business users to capture, organize, manage, test and deploy business rules while reducing the IT burden of implementing frequent rule changes in application code. The new release offers Haley customers greater flexibility by providing a range of functionality across the various stages of the application development lifecycle, from decision logic capture and modeling to business rules implementation.
With release 5.1, HaleyAuthority now comprises three tiers - HaleyAuthority Edge, HaleyAuthority Express, and HaleyAuthority - each designed to address a different phase of development:
- HaleyAuthority Edge helps business users to capture and organize their business unit's decision logic and business policy statements using English statements rather than code;
- HaleyAuthority Express allows business users to validate that the captured statements are understood by the system; and,
- HaleyAuthority allows business and IT users to test, implement, and deploy the set of statements as business rules executed by HaleyRules, Haley Systems' business rules inference engine.

HaleyAuthority is a multi-user rule authoring application that separates business logic from applications and stores rules in a central knowledge management database. Only Haley's authoring products allow capturing, testing and simulation of the business logic without first creating an underlying implementation. HaleyAuthority provides easy and intuitive, wizard-based implementation with Java classes, .NET assemblies, XML schema and SQL databases. These wizards allow IT personnel to integrate the business rules with applications after the business logic has been validated.
HaleyAuthority Edge allows users to capture their business logic in their common, everyday language. Driven by Haley's unique capabilities, users create nested rules through applicability conditions, which greatly reduces the complexity of rules and enhances their readability.
HaleyAuthority Express adds to the functionality of HaleyAuthority Edge, with business modeling and a rich set of features with built-in understanding of units of time and other basic concepts. Users can define the concepts set forth in their rules, making them logically understood by the system.
HaleyAuthority provides the highest level of functionality with the addition of full simulating and testing capabilities and rules workflow management. Haley users can deploy their business rules management system on a wide variety of platforms, from Pocket PC to Microsoft Windows and many variants of UNIX and Linux.
