HM Revenue & Customs goes live with Employment Status Indicator
London, 19 December 2005 - HM Revenue & Customs has now made the Employment Status Indicator tool, powered by RuleBurst®, available to the general public.
The Employment Status Indicator helps determine whether a worker in the UK is employed or self-employed. It was created to assist employers in the construction industry who have obligations to determine employment status as part of the new Construction Industry Scheme reforms, though it is also intended for use by workers, third parties and those outside the construction industry.
