Matthew Perrin BCom, LLB (UQ)
Non-Executive Chairman
A University Medallist from the University of Queensland, Matthew is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, and practised as a lawyer for five years with Allen Allen & Hemsley and later with his own firm.
Matthew acquired a major stake in Billabong International in 1997, and was the company's Chief Executive Office from 1998 to 2003, during which time the company listed on the ASX and achieved a market capitalisation in excess of A$2 billion.
Since 2003, Matthew has acquired major interests in international private companies with strong growth profiles. Haley (RuleBurst) is his first directorship since leaving Billabong.
Max Walsh AM, BEc (Syd)
Non-Executive Vice Chairman
Max is regarded as one of Australia's leading economists and business journalists. He has specialised in the areas of business, economics and politics in a journalistic career spanning nearly 50 years.
He has been editor and managing editor of The Australian Financial Review and Editor-in-Chief of The Bulletin. He also served on the board of Northern Star TV (predecessor to Channel Ten).
Alan Dixon BCom (ANU), CA
Non-Executive Director
Alan has been providing financial advisory services to corporations, institutions and individuals for the last 13 years.
Until December 2000 he worked for various investment banks, including ABN AMRO (where he was an Associate Director in mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets) and Ord Minnett Corporate Finance. Since January 2001 he has operated as Principal and Director of Dixon Advisory & Superannuation Services Pty Limited, which currently advises clients and manages over $1B of invested funds.
Alan has a Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Surend Dayal LLB (Hons), BSc (ANU)
Non-Executive Director
Surend has been a very long-standing employee of Haley (RuleBurst).
Surend has previously led RuleBurst as CEO and as Executive Director responsible for RuleBurst's key global partnerships.
Surend is recognised internationally for his work on expert systems and the law. He has also written several well received text books on computers and law, which are used for teaching purposes by many Australian Universities.
Surend has a long association with the Australian National University, establishing keystone courses for the university in information technology and Law. Surend is also a Barrister of the Supreme Court of NSW.
Nick Barbato BEc, MBA (Adel)
Non-Executive Director
Nick is the founder and Managing Director of PCI Equity Pty Limited, a corporate advisory and funds management business based in Adelaide.
Prior to establishing PCI, Nick was the Chief Investment Manager for a medium size boutique funds management business. He was responsible for a 5-fold increase in funds under management over a 4 year period, with average annual performance in excess of 30%.
Nick is also Non-Executive Chairman of listed media company 900 Degrees Limited and Non-Executive Director of Firewire Limited.
Dominic O'Hanlon BSc
Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director
Dominic was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Haley (RuleBurst) in November 2006. Dominic has had a lengthy and successful career in the ICT industry, during which time he has held numerous directorships. He was previously employed as Group General Manager, South Asia Pacific, with Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCL) for which he was responsible for strategy and regional sales to government, education and healthcare organisations.
During the last 15 years Dominic has held other senior executive positions within NASDAQ listed multi-national ICT sales companies including those of Managing Director, General Manager, Sales Director and Operations Manager.
Dominic has a solid understanding of corporate governance obligations including those which attach to Australian and US GAAP Standards. Dominic holds numerous memberships and he is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Dominic has also successfully completed several professional courses and programs, including those run by the Australian Graduate School of Management and the Columbia Business School.
Nick Mole BCom (Hons), BEcon (UQ), MBA (INSEAD)
Chief Financial Officer, Executive Director
Nick is Haley's Chief Financial Officer, having joined Haley (RuleBurst) as VP Strategy in 2006.
Nick has extensive experience in helping companies to create value for their stakeholders, helping them to define winning strategies, restructure their businesses for growth, raise capital, expand internationally and pursue acquisitive growth.
Formerly a consultant with management consultancy Bain & Company in London, Nick worked with companies in the business services, telecommunications and consumer goods sectors to help define their IT strategies, put in place new sales & marketing strategies, analyse their true cost positions, become more efficient, and acquire other companies.
During his time with JPMorgan in Sydney, Nick assisted companies in a variety of industries to acquire and divest businesses, raise debt and equity capital in Australia and abroad, and define their high level corporate strategy.
Nick also has public policy experience, having advised the Hon John Moore MP, Australian Federal Minister for Industry, Science and Tourism (and subsequently Minister for Defence) on industry policy and public relations.
