Activity 1: Capture and Organize Rules
Typically, the first step in developing a business rule management system using Haley Expert Rules is capturing and organizing the policies, regulations, guidelines, configurations, definitions, actions, etc. associated with the decision(s) that need to be made. With Haley Expert Rules, nothing could be simpler.
- Identify end goals/decisions
- Draft statements, definitions, etc., via free text, cascading menus, or tables
- Structure thought/statements in groups (i.e. modules)
- Re-use: Drag and drop conditions, statements or modules to other rules with global or per instance change tracking
- Specify when statements or modules take effect or expire (applicability, exceptions, overrides)
- Sub-modules "inherit" conditions from parent modules
- Override or exclude inherited sentences or modules
